To assist with the data warehouse conversion of the Cancer Center unit to GCP, we are seeking IT TECH SPECIALIST I. Additionally, the research division needs assistance with section-level initiatives and is in need of Data Architect expertise. Along with other Data Engineers, this individual will collaborate to design and construct reliable solutions for the assigned projects.

Engages in interactions with individuals both inside and outside the Information Technology Department, such as consultants, vendors, contractors, and staff from allied health. Summary of Position: Works autonomously on tasks and assignments within the bounds of competence and authority, elevating more difficult problems or those needing leadership approval to the right person. May frequently take on a leadership role in the team to oversee and plan the work of other employees. This involves delegating duties to employees while keeping workloads, skill levels, technical knowledge, and task criticality all in balance. acts as a mentor or consultant, providing guidance to others in particular technical domains. Serves as a resource to institutional committees on an as-needed basis, offering advice in their field of expertise. Participates in and serves on relevant committees and institutional workgroups. serves on committees that set technical standards, encourage data integration, and/or plan initiatives involving many work units. accountable and in charge of finishing assignments and projects on schedule, exhibiting a dedication to adhering to set objectives and deadlines.
Participates actively in technical workgroups as needed to further project goals. As part of the annual division planning, assists with technical planning for areas serviced by the work unit. leads the technical design, resource selection, and application processes for information systems in order to meet system requirements. Takes part in institutional system technical reviews to make sure technological architecture and design align with business requirements. Creates technical recommendations that take into account the business case and alternatives, obtains the necessary institutional clearances, and collaborates well with departmental organizations to win over stakeholders. is regarded as a technical expert in their sector and is sought after for their extensive understanding of a wide variety of contemporary technologies that are applicable to the Mayo environment. gives technical leadership in the areas of software development processes, design concepts, system architecture, and choosing information systems for their division. demonstrates an understanding of and use of enterprise architecture principles to guarantee that systems comply, align, and integrate with the enterprise environment of Mayo Information Technology. May need to offer round-the-clock phone assistance. interacts on a regular basis with coworkers who could be situated in any Mayo Group practice in order to carry out duties that call for virtual cooperation and partnership.
Extra Experience and/or Qualifications: ability to move freely between different work areas. demonstrated consistency in projects and deliverables through dependable and repeatable work. demonstrable project management expertise. Proven abilities in problem-solving, organizing, facilitation, and written and oral communication. proof of a high level of proficiency in a single computing technology. demonstrated aptitude for using a variety of computing technologies to solve challenging technological difficulties. expertise in the field of healthcare technology. exposure to overseeing programs that are both vendor-supplied and custom-developed. Preferably a master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
