Marketing and Fan Experience Intern

Purpose:

Support the Georgia Tech Athletic Association’s (GTAA) marketing and fan experience personnel in their efforts to boost attendance and revenue creation while improving the in-venue fan experience. Community outreach development, season, individual game, and group ticket sales activities, event management, game presentation, and student/campus participation are just a few examples of what this entails.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree is necessary, ideally in a relevant field such as business, marketing, or communication.

Experience:

Marketing, sales, sports management or similar profession. Should be conversant with the Adobe Creative Suite and have some understanding of Microsoft Office. Excellent communication, organizing, and detail-oriented abilities are required, along with a strong work ethic. Must be a self-starter with an upbeat personality, able to work both individually and in a group or team setting, meet a range of deadlines, and handle many assignments. It will be necessary to be available for this role to work weekends, holidays, and nights.

Job Duties:

  • Help the marketing team create and carry out designated marketing and promotional plans for Olympic sports, such as baseball, softball, swim and dive, men’s and women’s tennis, volleyball, and/or swim and dive.
  • Support the creation and implementation of marketing and promotional plans for basketball, football, and men’s and women’s sports. Required to work every home football game.
  • Oversee the creation of game day scripts, in-game music, in-game marketing, fan competitions, and sponsor activations for the designated sports.
  • Work together to create digital marketing content and programming for video boards and other digital platforms with the Creative and Digital Strategy team.
  • Develop cross-promotional strategies aimed at promoting ticketed sports with specific local events, professional teams, and tourist destinations.
  • Build campus and community participation and raise brand recognition by working with departments, other community leaders, and on-campus student groups.
  • Help with the day-to-day administration and implementation of the internship program.· Perform other tasks as delegated by the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing.
