About The Role
Join us as a Tech Lead and help shape the future of higher education! You’ll lead our team, work closely with leaders and engineers, and make a impact on our engineering team’s technology, culture, and processes. It’s a exciting and fast-paced role with lots of growth opportunities!
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of software engineers, including coding, planning, and guiding.
- Work with product, design, and engineering teams to design and deliver new features.
- Improve the team’s efficiency and quality through best practices and tools.
- Share responsibility for planning and executing projects that drive key metrics.
- Participate in company-wide engineering initiatives as a leader.
- Attract, hire, and develop a talented team of engineers.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years of experience leading a development team.
- Skilled in full-stack engineering with expertise in Python and/or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with large-scale search tools like ElasticSearch or OpenSearch.
- Proven ability to build reliable APIs and services.
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical people, including customers.
- A history of simplifying and improving complex systems, leading to increased scale and positive impact on users.
- Experience working with remote teams and engineers.
