What You’re Going to Do:
Your primary duty as an IT applications specialist will be to develop, create, install, and maintain services and applications in accordance with best practices. You will be in charge of looking into and resolving complicated application problems, finding errors and areas where current applications may be improved, and effectively informing the relevant teams of these tasks. To arrange for extra and escalated help, you will have to collaborate closely with both internal and external resources.
You must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, meet strict internal customer satisfaction requirements, and be punctual in order to succeed in this position. You have a strong sense of motivation and a strong commitment to Geotab’s expansion and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Influence Things:
- Create, set up, execute, and manage applications and service needs while adhering to best practices.
- As a technical subject matter expert, oversee and/or take part in initiatives.
- Plan, organize, and test enterprise application updates, suggesting adjustments for enhancements as necessary to ensure systems function properly in both present and future settings.
- Collaborate with entrepreneurs to comprehend their wants and control the expectations of the customers we service.
- Check your health every day to find problems early and save downtime.
- Perform performance optimization, find strategies to optimize the potential, and guarantee high application availability.
- Determine and fix production issues ranging from moderate to very complicated for apps that are supported (Google Workspace, RingCentral, PagerDuty, etc.)
- Provide management suggestions for the roadmap, security policy, and technological orientations and choices.
- SOPs for the application portfolio, along with other technical documentation, should be created and kept up to date for usage by both the technical and non-technical staff at Geotab.
- Create and manage automation scripts, and use configuration management to improve the efficacy and efficiency of your system.
- Engage in a rotating 24-hour on-call schedule.
What you will provide the position:
- Two to five years of experience supporting IT applications and cloud platforms on a technical, functional, and system level
- Specialization in computer science, engineering, or a similar discipline for a post-secondary diploma or degree
- IT industry professional certification (e.g., Linux +, AWS, Google ACE, Google Professional Collaboration Engineer) really important
- familiarity with the installation, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ChromeOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux OS
- Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and other cloud computing platforms
- Familiarity with SSO techniques (SAML & LDAPS)
- Strong background in scripting and programming, including Powershell, Python, Bash, etc.
- Familiarity with programs like Azure AD, RingCentral, ManageEngine, Gitlab, Google Workspace, etc.
- Familiarity with overseeing Mobile Device Management (MDM) programs, such as VMware Workspace One
- Able to function effectively under duress and adapt quickly to shifting deadlines and priorities
- Very well-organized and capable of overseeing many projects and chores at once
- Excellent communication abilities both in writing and speaking
- A capable team member who can communicate at various organizational levels
